Lisbon Treaty: Ballad for an Undecided Irish Voter

Are you ready for a smirking, cynical over-simplification of yesterday’s vote on the Lisbon Treaty? If so,

Ballad for an Undecided Irish Voter

Part One, to the tune of the Oscar Mayer wiener jingle. (MP3 available on this page)

Oh, I like to be an undecided voter,
That is what I really like to be.

‘Cause when I am an undecided voter,
All attention is squarely put on me!

But, I wish not to be an undecided voter,
For referendum of the Lisbon Treaty.

‘Cause I can’t tell what it all means for Ireland,
And everybody just shouts threats at me!

Part Two, to the tune of the Oscar Mayer wiener song. (MP3 also available)

This treaty has a first name,
L-I-S-B-O-N.

My TD has suggestions:
Y-E-S or Tá.

But I don’t know just what that means
so instead of vote, I’d rather say…

Explain it well or else you’ll pay,
I’m sick of both sides any way.
