<\/a>The B.B. B&B said, “Farewell,” to its first customer today. Despite the threat of a pilots’ strike<\/a>, Cindy was able to fly to Chicago today. With her help, the staff are now even better able to serve future customers of our B&B.<\/p>\nAlthough the staff haven’t finished putting together the book for this visit, we like to keep our friends informed. Cindy arrived Thursday morning. Friday:<\/strong> Biked south along Sandymount Strand; met new friends in Blackrock’s park; explored the South Wall, all the way to the lighthouse. [Photos]<\/a><\/p>\n Saturday:<\/strong> Saw the Book of Kells; Kilmainham Jail; and the High Cross exhibit at the National Museum for Decorative Arts. [Photos]<\/a><\/p>\n Sunday:<\/strong> Explored parts of the Wicklow Mountains; Ate at Johnnie Fox’s. [Photos]<\/a><\/p>\n Monday:<\/strong> Belfast, and too much to enumerate. [Photos]<\/a><\/p>\n Tuesday:<\/strong> Relaxation, and a walk around the Northside of Dublin. [Photos]<\/a><\/p>\n Wednesday, Day 1 of Retreat:<\/strong> Visited Cliffs of Moher, and the Burren. [Photos]<\/a><\/p>\n Thursday, Day 2 of Retreat:<\/strong> Connemara: Cong, Croagh Patrick<\/a>, and much more. [Photos]<\/a><\/p>\n Friday, Day 3 of Retreat:<\/strong> Galway, including the hotel hot tub. Dinner with friends. [Photos]<\/a><\/p>\n Saturday, Day 4 of Retreat:<\/strong> Drove home across the Midlands, with a stop at the Famine Museum in Strokestown<\/a>. [Photos]<\/a><\/p>\n Sunday:<\/strong> Rest day, and lots of rain.<\/p>\n Monday:<\/strong> Lots of reading on the beautiful grounds of the B&B, and a short walk along some famous Dublin roads.<\/p>\n
\nThursday afternoon:<\/strong> Biked to the North Wall, which protects Dublin’s harbour; saw Bull Island, with its golf courses and beaches; saw the gardens in St. Anne’s Park; biking along the bay through Clontarf. [Photos]<\/a><\/p>\n
